Default Happy Birthday Chennai
In 1639, this day, Francis Day got a "firman" from Damarla Venkatadri to build a Fort and a Settlement. This went on to become the Fort St. George, the present Administrative centre of the Tamilnadu Govt. The city was later named Madras and then recently renamed Chennal.
So happy 370th birthday Chennai.

Congrats Chennai.

I have a few pictures of old Chennai, very interesting. Let me see
if I can find them somewhere. Is anyone interested in those 100
year old pics?

100 years back than the Chennai of today
