Thread: Michael Jackson's legacy endures through music, videos

At Michael Jackson's revival of a memorial service, Smokey Robinson slapped the lectern and smiled.

Michael "will never really be gone," he said emphatically. "He is going to live forever and ever and ever and ever."

Robinson's conviction was a balm to the tearful Staples Center crowd that gathered July 7 to remember the King of Pop. No doubt such sentiments will surface again today among family and fans as the singer is finally laid to rest in a private burial at Forest Lawn cemetery in Glendale, Calif.

But as years go by, will Robinson's declaration prove true? Plenty of celebrities have stolen the spotlight in death, only to see their memories fade with the passage of time.

i infact started to hear him more,,
now i really think, he was the father/king/god of pop and starter of a new generation of amazing dance styles..

I guess those who grew listening to Michael Jackson's music and mimicking his moon walk will never forget him. Hez gonna live in their heart forever.

Please don't be hurt, but i think MJ was thrown in that child abusing case, cause he was a celebrity...

we cannot know the truth of what happened.. i can blindly trust MJ cause most of his videos weren't pornified like other popstars'...

Yes, I Think saying he was the greates human is going a bit too far.

Of course he was a brilliant man when it came to his music, but he probably had no understanding of the 'real' world that you and I live in.

He was a legend, very few people achieve the success that he did, and he will live on through his music.
