Default New Uniform for Cops in HP

Former Director General of Police of HP Ashwani Kumar, now a CBI Director, has taken sanction from the HP Government during his tenure for changing the Uniform of the HP Police. The Police officers of Himachal Pradesh changed there Khaki Uniforms introduced by British in 1861, with new Uniform for the State level Independence Day. They wore dark blue trousers, light blue cap with a decorative yellow flower on the top. The state Police of West Bengal and Goa also have changed there Khaki uniforms with blue ones except that the color of their shirt is white and not light blue like HP Police. It was stated that this uniform will be worn by all policemen from Constables to Inspector including Station House Officer.

Khaki outfit always resembles order. There was no need for a change.
