In a landmark judgement, high court of Delhi of ruled that the office of Cheif Justice of India, K G Balakrishnan comes under the jurisdiction of RTI act.The ruling says

judicial independence is not a judge's privilege but a responsibility cast upon him.
The 88 page judgement is a personal blow to the Chief Justice of India as he strongly opposed public scrutiny of judge through RTI act. The three judge panel comprises of Chief Justice A P Shah , Justice Vikramjeet Sen and S Muralidhar. They dismissed the plea of Supreme court that this action will undermine the Independence of judiciary.


The judge also make clear that they will make their assets public within a week as it will pave way to the transparency of the system.
