Default Google's Own Domain Registration Service

Google will soon be coming into the domain registration business as it has announced its launch of the domain registration service just recently. The service will be called Google domains and will be on an invite only beta for new domain registrations and also domain transfers.
Google have partnered with website building companies like Sqaurespace, Wix, Shopify and others to provide full fledged services to their customers.

Other domain registration companies charge for private registration, but with Google Domains private registration is free, along with this customers also get around 100 email addresses and custom sub domains.

A dot com domain would cost around $12 per year including the private registration which works out to much cheaper than many of the domain registration companies.

With a name like Google they will have many customers, who would simply want to be with a much reputed and customer oriented company.

How much would a dot com domain from other domain registrars cost, with and without private registration?

Domains from other domain registrars cost around $20 without private registration and around $30 with private registration.

I think this would be a great success, I dont know a great deal about domain and website services, but what I do know anything associated with websites and Google put to together would be good. Getting a website is something I have always thought of but have not really got the chance.

I am using Google apps for a long time with Indian address and never had a problem with payments or anything. I haven't tried their domain registration so cannot comment on that.

Yes, other google services are available for India.

Specifically, domain registrar service, they are mentioning it is not available for India and requires US Billing address.
Similarly other service which is Voice.google.com is also available only for US.
I had registered for it when I was in US.

I think, we'll need a US Proxy to access the service.

ok. I was able to transfer the domain to google but I have used my US Debit card and US Billing address. So I think we have to wait for more time for Indian Users.

I was not aware about the fact that Google is taking interest on domain registration service. Google is a trusted name and I am sure many people will be attracted to Google domain registration service. The registration price also looks moderate compared to the price charged by popular domain registration companies.

Google is registered as a domain registrar but they don't sell domains.
