Default IT situation not too good

with the US bankruptcy situation and with more software companies giving pink slips to their employees, the present looks shaky for those in the IT industry.

Freshers yet to join these companies are also filled with apprehension.

Whats ur take on it all?

Indian I.T companies claim that as non of the banks that declared Bankruptcy are their major client they have not been effected much ....The brunt of the blow as far as recruitment is concerned was taken by IIM's especially its overseas branch ...As Lehman bros were one of their major recruiters ...but coming back to I.T ...If you have talked with any Engg students lately ...you can easily gauge their "not so confident about getting a job" mood ....

But companies(Banks) like Goldman Sachs still have not reduced their recruitment ....

Like in my Alumnus they took many students for a min salary of INR 90,000 /month max around 2 lakhs

And these were Engg students not management

So this shows that everything is fine as of now .....

This can effect some small units but can not give any big hit on market and all units. I am working in Wipro and got US clients too but really need not to worry about this coz we work on bonds and contracts of 3 or 5 years.

Yes its true that it can show a bad impact on market

Many of my seniors who were waiting for their appointment letter got a rejection letter stating that the company would not be able to recruit them...This has taken quite a lot out of them...

Once you join some campus why can't you log on to India BB?

You are one of the active member over here. It will be a great loss for India BB. Hope you'll think over it and try to log in 2-3 times in a week.
