Thread: USB HDD problem

When i open my USB HDD then it say your HDD not formatted plz help me.
My USB HDD not Accessible.plz help me .

Dont your system give the format option. Go to control panel -- administrative tools-- computer management-- disk management and see if ur USB HDD is shown there and whats the status there, is it showing a healthy partition or raw partition. If its raw it would not be accesible.( i think u got a new hard disk and didn't formatted it). Format from disk management and see if its worked.

And share some information if its a branded USB hard disk or a Assembled hard disk, Because sometimes the casing doesn't works it shows light but hard disk not accessible. so elaborate some details to help you further.

ok. Plug ur HDD in using the usb chord. If u have 2 usb heads, make sure that the heas with the thicker wire is inserted, or for simplicity, put both inside.
The icon should appear in 'my computer'. Right-click on the drive and select format. Then pick NTFS format. Should work after that. Formating can take sometime. DO NOT PULL UR HDD OUT B4 ITS FINISHED FORMATING.

Fomat it and retry.

does this happens on clicking all the partitions? or a particular one?
