Lightbulb The Term "Netbook" Banned from Google Adsense Ads

The term "Netbook" is a Psion owned trademark. This term was first introduced by Psion whith their product Psion's Netbook Pro. Over the last 1-2 years the netbook market started evolving hugely and Psion kept warning about the trademarked term.

Now Google has banned the term "netbook" from being used in its adsense ads. this term has become a generic term for small laptops and notebooks and most manufacturers use this term. What will we call the small laptops from now on, if this term is killed? Some new term to this category of modern laptops needs to be coined.

The only way out is, if Psion sells this trademark which is not impossible considering the unsuccessful and unpopular products from them

They can always license it and claim royalty.

well ... for the time being it seems like most companies will keep using the term but google adsense will block ads with the keyword "netbook"

Many of us believe that Psion's trademarks are worthless and as such Save the Netbooks" (www dot savethenetbooks dot com)Save the Netbooks campaign fights the impending trademark threat) has been established to fight them, particularly given their end-March deadline. Its first mission is to reverse the Google AdWords ban and the ball is in Google's court now.
