there are several open source/free software repositories, developed for helping us download different tools/utilities for free.

Everyday, this service offers one software title, downloadable from it, for free.
Under this scheme, a product notified on a day has to be downloaded within the 24 hours in which it is listed. After the listed period, it would not be possible to get the software.

Knew this before!
The site itself is quite old, but the usefull software given are limited!

I usually install the software and make it a portable app(using thinstall) so that it can be used even after re-formating.

Sometimes the installed s/w shows the serial no. after activation , so saving this info can be usefull too.
