    Default Powermat: Wirelessly charge devices

It's as simple as it sounds. You plug in one Powermat and then just place your phone, your headset, your GPS unit, your handheld game—whatever—on it for charging.

Powermat enabling your devices is easy too. We have receivers for a broad assortment of existing electronic devices including iPhone, Nokia, BlackBerry, iPod, Razr and other phones, Bluetooth headsets, hand held electronic games, digital cameras, portable GPS units, and laptops.

Powermat eliminates the need for multiple chargers, power supplies, converters, and power sockets. Our first product line wirelessly charges multiple hand-held devices concurrently: perfect for home, office and travel usage.

The Powermat is a two part offering that includes:

    1. The mat: the thinly layered mat is designed to be overlaid on any work or home surface. Several mat configurations are available, supporting up to 4 devices simultaneously.
    2. The receiver: the receiver is embedded within any of the form-fitting covers that fit snugly over an array of electronic devices, including: cellular phones, Blackberrys, GPS systems or music players.

When a Powermat-enabled device is placed on the mat, a “handshake” process synchronizes the mat with the receiver and electric power is generated to meet the specific energy needs of the device.
    Technology

PowerMat’s technology brings safe, simple, and efficient wireless electricity to surfaces including walls, tables, floors and desktops with the invention and perfection of Surface Enhancement Technology (SET™). PowerMat provides a perfectly safe, and environmentally beneficial wireless method for transmitting electricity at a wide range of power levels.

PowerMat is designed to replace the need to access multiple electrical sockets with the flexibility and freedom of wireless power for real-time powering and charging of electronic devices of almost any kind in almost any environment. The technology utilizes principles of magnetic induction to transmit electrical power via an ultra thin mat embedded in, or overlaid on, any surface or wall, to electronic devices placed randomly upon it.

When the mat and the device are in immediate proximity, an “handshake process” evokes to identify:

    1. if there is a valid connection between the mat and the device,
    2. the amount of power required, and its existing level of stored battery power,
    3. which component in the Mat should be activated to transfer the required power. Then and only then does the transfer of electricity begin.

The system continuously monitors the power level of each device and automatically discontinues power transfer when the need for power is satisfied (i.e. when charging has reached optimal levels or device is either disconnected from the mat or turned off).
