I prefer Yahoo. Got used to its GUI. Apart from that, there is no grouping of mails which at times feel annoying. Gmail allows email clients and tagging feature is good. I will choose it only when the grouping is optional.

rediff sends spam or gives away your address to spammers like ICICI bank and HDFC bank and many others. Stay away from it.

Gmail offers free imap, pop3 facilities. Yahoo asks for $$ for that.

well yahoo localised versions have POP access.

But the best thing in Gmail is the excellent features, labs features, and most important Offline GMAIL, i have been using it for a lil over 2 months now.

But it really lacks when it comes to chatting, such a disappointment !

I seem to like .in as of now.

GMX, i used once coz of the high attachment size.

There was a service, which sends RS files to account. But sadly account got deactivated due to 'spammer activity'

wanted me to send some identity proof in mail, trashed it instead

I recieve many mails every day. Therefore, I filter mails from different sources in different folders. There is no folder feature in gmail. This according to me is the biggest disadvantage.

Use Incredimail. You can set rules to receive mails to different folder according to the from fields.

I use to like yahoomail ............ but then the no. of spams which i use to get via yahoomail were really annoying ................
and also with the new features getting incorporated into Gmail make me think that Gmail is a better option than yahoomail ...............
although i still use both yahoomail and Gmail ......

Do you mean the number of UNDETECTED spams that reach ur inbox or just the total spam received in ur spam folder ??

newer accounts in Gmail also can Import from yahoo accounts (even those withput POP access). for me it took about 40 mins for 150+ mb some 350+ mails....

--------

another good feature is that if u specify a secondary mail, then u get a verification, with u can claim ownership of the account.

and newer password reset fecility using SMS.
