Default Google and Microsoft War, may bring down PC prices

Google is in a bid to compete with Microsoft's Windows operating system, and this will make a change by lowering the cost of personal computers.
The new Chrome Operating System will be available for a small fee or even free at the time of its launch in the second half of 2010, and this is something major as it will put Microsoft into a price war.
Microsoft being a powerful company and having 99% of their operating system on computers, they can not take this change lightly. The Google Chrome OS will be first available on netbooks, currently netbooks sell between $300 to $400 but after this Google change the prices will significantly drop.

It is only an initiative now. Won't affect the market much before 2 - 3 years.

Correct. It is too early to say.
