Thread: Apple vs Intel

Intel is all set to launch their best chip ever for small devices, Apple might already be using similar technology in their next generation small devices.



There is an Intel developer forum coming up which will be startting on Tuesday coming week. This is going to be Intels giant leap into mobile internet devices and smart phones. Intels previous chips have not been very suitable for smart phones for a simple reason that they are all very power hungry and would need substantially larger batteries to keep them running which would inturn defeat the purpose of a smart phone although their Atom chip is working well on netbooks but they need to get the power consumption to a very low level to be used in smart phones.A very power efficient Atop chip is due in 2010 which is going to be used in LG smart phones next year and a few MIDs from Chinese and other Asian country manufacturers and tablets.



Apple on the other hand is into analogous chip development as they got a very good team of engineers when they acquired P A Semi in March last year who will sure help in bringing a new dimension to the development of future iphones, ipods and tablets.



Apple iphone's chip is pretty unique in design and performance and Apple is actually already competing with Intel's Atom chip as Samsung is just a stamp on their chips and Apple is just using them to manufacture its own chips.


I see a massive war zone building up on this segment in the very near future

Intel is past as well future. so never for forget your past.

Apple is only future.

Don't know who will win.There were many companies which had great potential but don't exist anymore in chip field like Cyrix & Motorola. Though Cyrix is credited with bringing the chips prices down.
