Thread: Facebook-Bing deal

Microsoft has confirmed that it will offer full search access on Bing to facebook users. Bing was already integrated with facebook but Only in USA, now bing on facebook will be accessible to 400 million users all over the world. According to the deal between Bing and facebook, bing will be providing better search results allowing customers to make faster decisions.

If you are busy worrying why someone will use a social networking sites search feature to search stuff then digest this, Facebook handled nearly 1.6 billion searches last year making it 8th most popular search engine even ahead of the popular ask.com ! Bing definitely is going great places with this deal.

This is a blow to google . ! Even apple had reported that it would switch to Bing as default search provider for the iphone.

In addition to this there have been new advertising arrangements where in Microsoft will no longer be displaying advertisements for facebook, as facebook will be selling its own ads while Microsoft will still continue to provide ads for facebook.

Facebook search numbers is peanuts for Google. and I believe any Google search user will never switch to another search engine as long as Google continues to stay ahead of the game by constantly innovating all the time. The new caffine update which is going to be live very soon will turn the search engine market upside down for better. I have tested Google caffine's beta and I would say Ive never experienced anything faster then caffine and the quality of their index is unmatched by any other search engine.

Iphone may start using bing or any xyz search engine but do you realise how many iphones are there in the market? and people like me would still keep using google even if it meant opening the browser and typing the url because Google's index is the best as compared to any other search engine.

if you are facebooking and want to search something u will most probably use the search on the site and not switch to a new tab ! That is where bing wants to capitalize with facebook now 400million users it is great start
