Thread: Solar powered rickshaws at CWG:

About 1000 solar powered rickshaws will be added on delhi roads specially for facilitating transport of some 7000 delegates who will be in India for the commonwealth games.
This is a joint initiative of delhi government and CSIR and will help promote green games and provide for eco friendly common wealthy games with zero carbon emissions.
The common wealth games which is scheduled for October 3 rd will have some 7000 players and delegates from about 70 countries.
These rickshaws were developed by CMER in durgapur and will draw power from solar panels and will help players commute between metro stations and sporting venues along with transportation within games village. This ricshaw will be made popular in delhi through a rally spreading awareness.
This certainly is a great innovative and green idea
