AOL has launched their Spanish-language portal with several free services on offer. The company aims to get more web users from the region to use their services, which are financed with online advertising.
The website AOL Latino was previously available to only customers who paid as much as $26 a month to avail the service offered by this portal.
AOL recently decided to change their focus from being an ISP to a provider of online services and has been launching free services ever since powered with advertising. This is just the latest of their ventures targeted at boosting their viewership on the web.
David Liu, AOL’s senior vice president spoke on this launch: “This launch represents another phase in the evolution of the U.S. AOL.com Web portal.”
