Rep Power: 13 | Internet giants Yahoo! has announced a special project aimed at servicing Filipino overseas workers. This project has been named “Pinoy Connect” and it would include a special website designed to meet the requirements of Filipinos who are working abroad. This new site would be hosted on their Philippines portal and would include features like news, entertainment, mobile services, chat groups, mobile communications and instant messaging services. Yahoo! said in a statement that this project is supported by the Philippine government agencies, private firms and the Roman Catholic Church. Reza Behnam, managing director of Yahoo! Southeast Asia added: “We believe the Internet can transform lives and we believe that Yahoo! can make a difference for Filipinos living around the world who need to communicate and stay in touch.” |
