Rep Power: 10 | Research in Motion gaining customers at an impressive pace Research in Motion has said in a statement that they earned $129.8 million in its latest quarter. The company added that they gained as many as 680,000 users in this quarter. This helped the company boost their revenues by around 35 percent. Profits for the company were not much different from the last year’s results when the company posted net income of $132.5 million, or 67 cents per share. This positive result helped the company gain at the stock exchange as the prices were up nearly 4 percent in after-hours trading. Revenue was up at $613.1 million for the three-month period ended June 3. This is up from $453.9 million RIM posted last year in the same period. RIM continues to make bulk of their revenues from selling Blackberry devices. The company shipped as many as 1.2 million devices during this quarter. RIM expects to gain between 675,000 and 700,000 new subscribers in the next quarter. |
