XM Satellite Radio to expand focus on auto sector for growth
XM Satellite Radio has said that they are going to increase focus on the auto industry for growth. The company has created a new marketing group dedicated to drumming up business with the automotive sector.
XM is hoping that getting more deals with automobile companies to setup their equipment on their cars would help them boost their subscriber numbers.
This move is the latest in the company’s reshuffle of the marketing division, which saw the creation of a chief marketing officer position. That post is yet to be filled. XM has already announced the appointment of Steve Cook as their executive vice president for automotive.
This division would focus on company’s partnerships with General Motors, Honda, Toyota, Hyundai and Nissan. They have also appointed My-Chua Nguyen as the new senior vice president of marketing, planning and research.
