HBO’s ‘Sex and the City’ and ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ coming to Cingular Wireless
HBO has announced that they would be making available shows like “Sex and the City” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm” exclusively on the Cingular Wireless’ video showcase for mobile phones.
This deal is important for the mobile market in the United States, as it is the first of its kind to make available entire shows for mobile phone users.
Most mobile service providers prefer to offer clippings of shows to broadcast on their mobile phone networks.
HBO would also be creating exclusive mobisodes of “Entourage” for Cingular. The deal is also important for the content market, as HBO has not signed any deal with online stores to make available their content online until now. They did however made available an episode of “Dane Cook’s Tourgasm” on Apple iTunes as an experiment.
This new deal also makes sure that the television studio is not offering any latest content available for download on the mobile platform.
