Apple Mac Clone launched A Miami-based company has developed a Mac clone which may not have exact cool design as Apple Mac has, but still it has got great looks. These clones also offer much more system configurations as compared to Apple Mac at almost half the price.
PsyStar Corp. launched two Mac clone models, “OpenMac” and “OpenMac Pro”. OpenMac is the basic model which comes 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor. 2 GB RAM, 256 MB Nvida graphics card, DVD Drive and 4 USB Ports and retails for $399. While the second model, OpenMac Pro comes with 3.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Processor, 2GB of DDR2 800 memory, nVidia GeForce 8600GT with 512MB of RAM, 20x DVD+/-RW SATA drive, Gigabit Ethernet, 8 rear USB Ports, 7 channel Integrated Audio SPDIF and Optical Output and retails for $999.
All buyers can choose their operating system while ordering a new machine at the company official site. Presently two operating systems are available, Ubuntu 8.04 and Apple Leopard. Installations of both the operating systems are free of cost.
It is expected that Apple may soon contact PsyStar to stop offering Leopard as an OS option for their customers as Apple has banned installation and use of their OS on any non-Apple branded machine. |
