SanDisk to Offer Flash-Based Laptop Backup SanDisk will soon offer laptop users a new way to backup their data which will enable them to protect their data from getting lost in an event of drop or any other way which can possibly make them loose their data.
SanDisk has developed an adapter which works with a SD flash memory card which fits into laptop ExpressCard that automatically backup data from the laptop to the card.
The SanDisk flashback adapter comes with two year warranty, a mini-CD which contains data backup software and a user guide and works on Windows XP or Vista based machines. This product is priced at $29.99 and will be shipped in second quarter.
Once the adapter is setup, user just have to select the files they will like to backup and once they do it software will automatically backup data to the card whenever there is a change in the file or folder they have selected which saves users from the hassle to manually updating their backup.
Users do not need this adapter to restore the data to the machine. It is only needed to do backup, in time of restore users just need to use the card and select the files from the card and indicate the restore destination. The biggest positive point of this card is that it is light as a normal SD card and automatically does everything which most of the laptop users will like to have. |
