Acer Unveils high performance laptops Acer, in their first ever U.S press conference released two new high performance laptops which will soon be available on sale. These two new laptops are Aspire 8920 and 6920 which comes with both 18.4 inch and 16 inch screen, blu-ray drive; HD LCD and Dolby Pro Logic 2.0 surround sound system.
Both of these models use Intel core 2 Duo processors and have the capability to run Windows Vista. Even these laptops can run Vista, Acer suggest their buyers to use Linux based operating systems as they do not require as high system requirements as Vista do as of which users can get much better performance.
Acer also announced completion of acquisition of Packard Bell and also added they will not rename any of the companies they have acquired and all new products will be released by their original company name with their usual design, as they did not bought these companies to kill their brand name.
Acer also plans to divide their companies operations as per according to the regions in which they are doing well. Gateway will mainly operate in US, PB in Europe and Acer will operate worldwide. This plan is part of their new strategy which company hope will surely work for them. |
