Dell, world’s second largest PC maker is looking forward for Asian market as its own main market United States is facing economy problems.
Dell announced that it will soon develop low-cost laptops for Asian market. It mainly aims at China and India which are one of the biggest growing nations in Asian continent. Some of the top know companies like Lenovo have already started offering low-cost laptops in this region which is increasing their market share and is hurting Dell sales.
Dell is also looking forward for offering low-cost laptops to increase its market share. Dell presently have 16.1 percent market share in China and gets around 18 percent of the total revenue from China.
Dell also said that selling through internet will not be possible in these countries because customer first like to feel the product before they buy it. As of this reason Dell has struck a deal with China biggest electronic retailer, Gome Group which will expand Dell presence to 1,200 Chinese cities.
Dell has already donated $210,000 to build six education centers in China which will be used to teach computer skills to children’s of migrant workers in an attempt to make goodwill.
