Its a new technology being devoloped in South Korean by their Telecom Industry [IEEE 802.16e standard (WiMax)] .... IEEE 802.3 is the Ethernet standard(cable internet) which uses the Radio Jack45 (Rj45) ... the transparent plug thingy that u connect to ur computer .....
Wibro was devised to overcome the data rate limitations of Mobile phones like CDMA 1x
Commercial Services have been launched in South Korea from the year 2006....
It costs approximately around USD 30 ... and gives you the speed of 30-50 Mbps.... But its range is only 1.5 km long ...so for effective usage many Base stations(signal towers) need to be built .....
