NDTV collaborating with Genpact to offer outsourcing services Prannoy Roy-promoted media group NDTV has gone into a collaboration with the BPO Company Genpact to form a joint venture. They would offer media outsourcing services to enterprises across the world.
NDTV Chairman Prannoy Roy said in a statement that since a majority of their work is done in digital format, it could be easily outsourced to interested parties. Market experts believe that such a market would be worth around 1,777 billion dollar by 2009 from 1,340 billion dollar in 2005.
Roy said: “This is the first of its kind initiative on media process outsourcing in the country and should be seen as an opportunity similar to what the ‘Y2K’ offered to the Indian IT industry a few years ago. The world is currently at an inflection point similar to Y2K phenomenon as decades of analog is being converted to digital from major process based operations to high-end functionality.”
This Joint Venture is set to focus on providing services to global, regional media and entertainment companies in areas of editing, digitization and closed captioning, among others. |
