Arrow Raju Brothers to get Special Status in Jail

After spending a month in the jail as normal prisoners, co-founder and former chairman of Satyam - Ramalinga Raju, his brother Rama Raju and Satyam's former CFO(chief financial officer) Vadlamani Srinivas would be given special prisoner's treatment with many facilities. They will have to share a cell/room equipped with an attached toilet, cot, pillows, chair and table.

Hyderabad District Collector has certified that Raju brothers used to have a particular lifestyle on the basis of which the two brothers are to be given special prisoner's status.

The opposition said that such people making money by cheating poor people are not eligible for such privileges.

At least the Rajus managed to provide employment to thousands of people and also earned foreign exchange for the Country.
The "opposition" does not seem to react when politicians are given even more "special" treatment when sent to jail for even crimes like murder.

so, do you really think only he was responsible for the entire scam? didnt you see the movie "corporate"? dont you find any reality in that movie? he is just a scapegoat ... someone had to take the blame... he did ... what about all his services and contribution towards indian IT industry over the years?

Dear Saurav, You are getting carried away a bit. It is right that he (Raju) was not alone in the scam - he could not have been alone as it is simply impossible in a publicly listed large company.

But it is definite that he was the main instigator. He may have given 53K people (debatable?) jobs but now he has put all of them in severe jeopardy. What if the majority clients leave and company files for bankruptcy? What about the thousands of people who have based their happy lives on this job? What about their home mortgages? What about their parents and children?

i agree ... i am not saying that he is innocent ... but he at least deserves some facilities in jail ... at least he was brave enough to confess the entire scam ... where others were just shielded by him ..

But then all are equal in the eyes of law (or supposed to be).

We can then change this to "all are equal in the eyes of law but some are more equal".

all are supposed to be equal but are not ... most dangerous criminals and gangsters enjoy more facilities than this in jail ...

and such facilities to some high society prisoners have always been provided in the past ... there are provisions for it ... thats why even this decision has been taken ...

    ^^^
All existing laws were framed by the British only. So they have differing standards for the "gorey log" & the "kala aadmi"

Please stop blaming the British for every problem that we have in life. For instance, if the British laid down double standards in the law, who is supposed to make it better.

My grandmother (when she was alive), used to say that law and order was much better during the British times.

yes. even my father says so. (he was a teenager when the country got independence).
but thats because, however archaic the british laws were, at least they followed them.
now the only law is lawlessness.
