According to the latest figures released by Britain's unemployed population is expected to be the first time since 1997, a breakthrough two million mark. From September 2008 to November, the population of unemployed persons in United Kingdom rose to 1,920,000 over the previous 3 months, an increase of more than 130,000. With the current new wave of unemployment, including large-scale retail Woolworth Group's 27,000 layoffs the National People's Congress, to apply for unemployment benefits will be substantial increase in the number of people. Many large enterprises will go to the Prime Minister's Office to attend a meeting to discuss the problem of unemployment. British Federation of Trade Union’s latest report shows that Britain's unemployment rate in the past was below the European average, and now has gone up more than twice the European average rate of increase.
