Italy based airline company Eurofly has announced their plans to launch the first direct commercial flights between Rome and New Delhi in 2007.

The company aims to gain from the ever-growing Indian market where more people are traveling on business tours and they want to save time on flights.

Eurofly would be flying 282-seater Airbus A320s between the two capitals three times a week each way from January 15. Tickets would start at 20,000 rupees during the starting period.

Eurofly Executive Vice President Armando Brunini said in a statement: “We are filling a gap. Italy, we think traffic can grow, but it’s quite stable. What we’re really looking for is growth from the Indian market.”

They are expecting this new service to breakeven by the second year of operation.
