Default Rolls-Royce to power Airbus A350 XB plane

Rolls-Royce has said in a statement that they have signed on an agreement with the Europe based aircraft manufacturer Airbus and they would be providing its next-generation Trent engine for all variants of the new A350 XB plane.

The company added that this contract was the result of their preliminary agreement announced at the Farnborough International Airshow in July. They however did not reveal the financial aspects of the deal.

Rolls-Royce said in a statement: “The Trent XWB will offer a range of thrusts from 75,000lb to 95,000lb to power all versions of the A350 XWB which is due to enter service in 2013. The latest noise and emissions reduction technology will ensure that the engine meets all current and proposed environmental legislation with significant margins.”
