Default Ford Motor expected to keep a minor stake in Aston Martin

US based automaker Ford is currently talking with parties interested in taking over British company Aston Martin. The latest news in the market is that despite the sale Ford is expected to retain a stake in Aston Martin.

The company is also likely to continue to supply the new owners with technical support and components.

Ford is currently in talks with English motor-sport entrepreneur David Richards who is leading a consortium interested in talking over Aston Martin.

Richards is expected to become the Aston Martin’s chairman after the takeover and existing chief executive Ulrich Bez is also likely to continue at his position.

If the deal goes through, analysts believe that the investors in the company would try to get Ford to sell off Jaguar and Land Rover as well.
