Chery Automobile to manufacture bullet-proof sedans showcases Chery A1 Chinese automaker Chery Automobile has said in a statement that they are planning to start manufacturing bullet proof sedans in collaboration with a Uruguayan company.
This move would benefit their aim to venture outside their domestic market of China. The company also incidentally announced the details of their first model made under a new partnership with German-American automaker DaimlerChrysler AG.
Chery spokesman Wang Wei said in an interview on their plans: “We don’t have any plan to launch this product, made in co-operation with Chrysler, in the North American and West European markets, contrary to what many reports said.”
The company showcased the Chery A1 model which is an upgraded version of the popular QQ model. It would be sold in the Chinese market.
Chery added that they would work with its Uruguayan partner, Bognor SA to manufacture bullet proof sedans in Montevideo. These cars would be sold internationally to anyone who is interested in acquiring them. |
