Rep Power: 10  |  Motorola Ventures investing big money in Israel Motorola Ventures investing big money in Israel Motorola’s venture capital arm, Motorola Ventures has said that it is investing up to $25 million in Israeli start-ups in 2006. Motorola Ventures co-founder and Managing Director Matthew Growney said in a statement on their plans: “We have a $150 million investment commitment from six offices for 2006. Of that, we will invest $20 to $25 million in Israel.” The company has invested in BroadLight and CopperGate Communications this year. Growney added: “We’ve invested $12 million in Israel so far this year, so we will probably double that.” He however declined to reveal the planned investments for next year. Israel is one of the leading tech developing nations around the world and has the maximum number of companies listed on the NASDAQ market after USA. |
