Rep Power: 10 | Apple talking with movie studios for selling movies on iTunes Mac makers Apple Computers is said to be talking with movie studios with the aim of selling movies on their iTunes digital service. Apple already is the world’s largest seller of music on the internet and is also selling television shows and music videos on iTunes. Next aim is to of course bring movies for sale on their digital service. However, pricing has been the critical issue for the company as movie studios seems to be asking for a price much higher than what Apple wants to charge for selling movies. Market rumors claim that Apple is scheduled to start selling movies on iTunes by the end of the current year. Apple wants to charge a flat rate of USD 9.99 for the movies while the studios wants to charge variable rates that can be up to $19.99 or more for new releases. Neither Apple nor the movie studios have released any statements on these rumors floating in the market. |
