Chrysler Group to offer new discounts to clear inventory
Chrysler Group has said that they would be soon launching a new discount scheme to clear up their inventory of unsold 2006 models.
This new scheme is scheduled to come out sometime next month and with this, the company would become the first of the Detroit-based automakers to offer employee-level pricing at the peak of the busiest sales season.
This offer is further expected to escalate the price war in the country with both Ford and GM expected to come out with their own competing offers. The three auto giants in the US market are struggling to lure customers, as they now prefer to buy Toyotas and Hondas.
Chrysler’s offer might help consumers save hundreds or even thousands of dollars on new car purchases considering the employee-level pricing is typically several percentage points below the standard dealer’s invoice. It would be interesting to see if this helps them to boost their sales.
