Job cuts in Microsoft Learning division
Software giant Microsoft has said that they are eliminating 14 jobs in its Microsoft Learning division. An outside vendor would now handle this work for the company.
Microsoft spokesman Lou Gellos confirmed this in a statement saying that they decided to cut these jobs as the work in the division is now been consolidated and it would be carried out by an outside vendor which was previously sharing those duties with the in-house workers.
The division has around 300 people working in it and takes care of technologies that provide training on how to use and implement its products. Microsoft Learning offer classes, books and certification resources in the company’s technologies and products.
Microsoft had earlier announced in the month of May that they had told about 1,000 technology contract workers to take seven days off the job without pay as the company was cutting on expenses in divisions which are not very profitable for them.
