Default Is today's media show any responsibility towards nation…???

Friends! Most Hindi TV channels have resorted to crappy presentations, which are packaged as 'news'. Unprofessional handling of odd news leaves a bad taste with the viewers..

Media is interested only in the kind of news given below:
>> ’maut ki saza ’ (death sentence)

>> Saturn’s birthday

>> Cricket is always on top, though there may be no such news to do with it.

>> Laughter shows occupying prime time these days

Are such stories, news worthy...?
Do they change our lives anyhow...?
Where are articles addressing grave issues?
Are we ingoring them or we do not have medium to show them?
Is Media not being a victim of commercialization?

To add to the above list, film stars, filmy news, gossip, "Ganeshji and milk", "Sea water turning fresh" ... the list goes on.

Indian News channels are pathetic at the best ... no, no, 'pathetic' is still a compliment ... need to find a better suited word ... suggestions welcome.

News channels occassionally show some newsworthy item but it is totally biased and 'loaded'. For instance, yesterday the hot news was shooting of an innocent farmer in Karnataka - one news channel reported this as "new BJP govt.'s gift to the people". I do not support BJP or any other party for that matter - but is this how news is reported. Other channels were just as much guilty.

Here are the worst news channels in my opinion (in order):

1. Star News
2. Aaj Tak
3. Zee News
4. India TV / Live India / Sahara Samay

NDTV and Times Now are better in that respect. Business news channels are much better, informative and watchable.

The best way is to stop watching them.

Star News & Aaj Tak are total waste......
they have 30 min programs on unnecessary topics....

NDTV is the best......

This is sad to see the quality of media in India is in a very bad state. They still have a long way to go if they wanted to be a responsible media.
