Default Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur gets $500,000 from Arun Sarin of Vodafone

Arun Sarin, chief executive officer of UK based Vodafone Group has donated $500,000 to his alma mater, the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.

IIT Kharagpur would be using these funds to build an electronic research laboratory and related research purpose.

S K Dube, director of IIT Kharagpur spoke on this generous gesture from one of his previous students: “It is a donation from Sarin’s personal fund and not from his company and he has already paid $250,000, with the rest to be given in future.”
