    Great pictures PB.

I am really impressed with the technical quality of the photos.
Even a modern digital camera can't match that.

I think it was probably taken in a large or medium format film
camera with a classic German camera like the Rolleiflex
or a Speed Graphic with an amazing Planar lens.

    -F

or it could be a recent photo with some photoshop work.

They are supposed to be from the collection of a great press photographer of that time.

it is indeed sad. I would recommend the film "yeh woh manzil toh nehi", if you can find it. Gave a real insight into the situation.

Wow great pics... India looks truly free on that day than what we see today...

Just see how people are roaming freely near President Palace... No security guys to stop anyone... Now, menace of terrorism has forced us to sacrifice some of our freedom... Every important place you go, it's the sight of the Policemen/Security which welcomes you...

Really nice pictures. But, it is very unfortunate that, Aug 15 has become just a holiday for all of us!
