Do not spread rumours. What you read in newspapers are NOT Gospel truth. Editors/Management have their own selective bias in presenting the information.
Simply say It is alleged Mr Mickey has acquired a villa in Switzerland for 1 Million U.S Dollars with 2G scam kick backs, and number of CBI offficers will proceed to Switzerland/Bahamas/Mauritus/ South Africa to track the deal. Any day Mr Mickey will be called for interrogation and his Passsport impounded now!! It is learnt that he is staying in Himachal Pradesh now and a special team is proceeding to interrogate him !!!
Consolation : you can substitute a Yoga teacher's name instead of Mickey!

2.Why don't you look at this way ?
Wireless 2Gspectrum for Cellphone use was allegedly given to selected Private telecom companies as well as BSNL MTNL , by GOI for a song and some persons involved in the deal made money, which the PRIVATE Telecom companies paid as kickbacks.
( I know a House building company in Chennai which collapsed , because they refused to pay bribes to Corporation/city development authorites etc )

Now in consortium they control the usage charges for cell phone use
( from Rs 10/=/per minute old Reliance era ( Rs 10,000 deposit) now say Re1/ minute freecalls sms etc))
which in turn made cellphone use a common man's tool.
( Remember Sam Pitrodia's vision of Telephone in every village/ telephone booths etc )
60% of the market is dominated by Private ISPs who have paid kick backs, and MTNL/BSNL are struggling to keep the customers.
Even preference for 3 G was given to BSNL/MTNL to start the service first..
( that BSNL is running at a loss is another mattter )
Off shoot: almost 60% of indian population use cellphones ( if not Toilets !). Nokia etc started manufacturing cellphones In India and created additional jobs. Access to Information in an affordable manner.
Think what the POLICE will do, if the culprits don't use Cellphones !!!!
    ( more crime detection !!!)
Number of persons are self employed selling/servicing cellphones.

Govt also rakes in Service Tax huge amounts.

Compare with Broadband coverage. Inhibition by ISPs cost of computer
    Literacy level etc.
Incidentally if Mr Maran had continued as Telecom Minister Broadband connection was promised FREE .Same way 1rupee /minute ALL India
    telephone calls plan was introduced.
( now don't claim , : he got "kick back" from telephone instrument makers to boost their sales and profits !!!)

    Para two :
It is the "Cut throat" competition by Private companies which breed corruption, favoritism/ etc.
This is the effect of "OPEN Market Economy" Survival of the fittest.
Socialist/communist policies are out of date now.

If the procedure adopted was wrong, why the other affected companies did not make a HUE and CRY at that time ?
( because it is a closed circle. you scratch my back. I scratch yours !
in profit and in murky dealings ).

Forecast : the 2G scam will go the way of BOFORS, , with our legal system.

We don't formulate rules on our own. Simply make a trip to U.S or Europe and learn how they manage their Wireless spectrum and, make cosmetic changes here !

    Para three:
    3g was auctioned .
How many can afford a 3G phone . watch streaming video etc ?

The amount of Tax payer's money being wasted All over India, ( even without Kickbacks /fraud etc ) is huge. Check the Food grains rotting in Govt Godowns , and there is no mechanism to even distribute it free of cost .

i am not spreading rumours.. if media is so biased, than there are no 2G, Grains, Aadarsh Society anything.. right??

dont take Maran personally... what i feel for him is that if comes out true than ok.. but if he is found corrupt he shall be taken out of his den and thrown into the jail koocha.. and not just him.. whoever does anything wrong.. even if the Gandhi's are involved the country must stand together and bring that down.. they will eat the economy and stuff at swiss bank..

well essbebe..do you always rely on CBI, that is directly controlled by the P.M.O??

sorry but my condition is too pathetic.. just like the present condition of India...i cannot trust on a Congress led govt at all..

and specilly looking that Congress except itself doesnt save its alliance parties at all (check out Maran, DMK, Raja, Kanimodi)

a govt which runs on mistrusts of its own constituent parties dies with lack of support...

Absolutely. Media persons are the most corrupt of the lot. Remember the Barkha Dutt incident?

almost 60% of indian population use cellphones ( if not Toilets !). Nokia etc started manufacturing cellphones In India and created additional jobs. Access to Information in an affordable manner
Yes. and call charges wuold have been even less it there were no kickbacks to pay.

It is the "Cut throat" competition by Private companies which breed corruption, favoritism/ etc. This is the effect of "OPEN Market Economy" Survival of the fittest. Socialist/communist policies are out of date now.

    3g was auctioned .
Open economy does not mean squandering of Country's resources. The very issue of 2G is that open economy i.e. open auction route was not followed

Check the Food grains rotting in Govt Godowns , and there is no mechanism to even distribute it free of cost .
The reason the foodgrains are rotting is because they were purchased far in excess of PDS requirement to satisfy farmers' lobby. And they were purchased at prices much higher than the market price. The Minimum Support Price (MSP) was increased nearly 40% in 4 years to satisfy the vote banks. And then again, the Govt. is not willing to pay for it and do not release the subsidy due to the managing agency (FCI) to the extent that now even Banks are refusing to lend money for financing the option. When you force an Agency to purchase abnormally high quantity of foodgrains with borrowed money and don't pay for it, how they are supposed to maintain it. Natural result - rotting grains. Govt. is also not willing to allow issuing it free of cost as that would mean even more subsidy to be paid.

As the events of past few days show, he is just as bad as any other aspiring politician.

    @panchabhut
    good post.
    will take up this:
Govt. is also not willing to allow issuing it free of cost as that would mean even more subsidy to be paid.
I remember this when i was in U.S.
A Dept store Shaw was vacating their ware house from Location A to location B ( a distance of barely 20 Feet !)
They advertised 50% rebate on all items till midnight on a single day
and the old Warehouse was cleaned out in no time by eager buyers!

The Dept Store SHAW opened with fresh stock in their new Warehouse.
    ( In Shrewsbury MA)
The company saved the cost of labour moving the stuff and still made a profit.!

If the offfer is made to the local villagers in India here , to collect say 1 Bag each the whole godown will be almost empty.
Even here in India , as the saying goes "Even if God grants a boon the Pujari is not willing " or " Choota mian Subhan Allah" will make the scheme a failure! and export the whole lot to say a neighbouring country, or arrange with a poultry farm for a Kickback !!!

So corruption/nepotism/ etc is part of our life.
    2
    Subsidy "per se" is not bad;
For example : to discourage use of fossil material and kerosene as cooking fuel, LPG was given at a subsidised rate . ( Now each domestic user ( rich/poor Including P.M etc ) gets Rs 400/= on each LPG cylinder every month ). This is turn discourages use of kerosene.

Methane Gas plants ( efficient disposal of cattle manure and production of natural fertilizers ) were encouraged at a subsidised price and as usual cornered by rich farmers. Now solar panels are subsidized.

As a consumer I want rice/wheat/milk/vegetables/ transport /fuel all at low cost.

As a producer ( farmer ) of above , I want more money to meet the cost of production and at least maintain a decent standard of life.
To balance both sides. Govt buys fertilizers/seeds/ at high cost and issues them at reduced price. Electricity for pump sets at nominal cost and sometimes free ( as in Tamil Nadu). a minimum guaranteed price for their produce.

There is nothing called a Free Lunch. You pay some taxes , and get part of it back as subsidy!

The so called "loss" to the Govt in spectrum allocation since 1999 can be easily made up now, by changing the rules.

    Incidentally 3G was auctioned:
Let us wait some more time , to find out how many users opted for this service at the present tariff ?

    .............lunch !!!!

that should be called an Ideal situation.. but truth follows that all subsidies are going to the so called "minorities" because they are born poor...
90% minorities have bpl cards, but they dont even really need the card..
the appropriate needy poor man doesnt get his share...

condition of roads is clear example of congress portfoilio.. kill the middle class, kill the poor and rule them...

    thanks for the informatory posts..

people die due because these fkrs cannot give them grain which destinies to rot..
people are dying because the govt doesnt give good loan rates to poor farmers who actually need it than rich farmers who dont give employment to labourers but employ big machines..

people are dying because we have a simple p.m surrounded by huge debt on him for making him the p.m ..

you have lunch with your numbers.. and with numbers more and more people will die... and Pronab Mukherjee. he is such a crap..
