Your speed will depend more on your Service provider [in this case ] Airtel than your phone model ...Can you speed it up ? ... i dunno maybe somebody else can help ?
gprs usually gives 115 kbps, how much r u geting?
i ve heard... these roumors.. tht u get nice speed on motorola handsets.. for using internet on comp via phone.. but.. i dont think so...
basically as far as i tried all tweaks and tricks.. i was not able to get speed... infact i tried different phone models also... and first of all.. its not gprs.. its mobile office in airtel.. which u are talkin.. if u r using gprs than pl get moile office.. which will make it faster.. if using same than be satisfied!!!!!!!!
rest lets see.. wat others have to tell
Try smart phones with os installed in it like windows mobile HP.Also nokia n95 is better, dont forget to clear ur phone cashe history, and cookies.also frequently clear ur intenet history by using c cleaner(for ur computer).try to connect the mobile via usb,if u r connecting by bluetooth.and keep ur phone in a place where it is showing max network bar.The max speed of Airtell mobile office is abt 105-115 kbp/s.if ur is it,then dont be sorry,u cant get any more better speed using this connection.
u can also try a different alternate dns and basic dns.alternate is 208.67.220.220 nd basic is 208.67.222.222,but i m not sure that it ll surely increase ur speed.
ya one thing is there.. bluetooth connection is slower than cable.. so better connect phone via cable to the comp... rest other way.. i tried.. dint worked for me.. u can still try.. may b u r the lucky one@!!
Always connect through cable.put the phone near to a window where network strength is high.
you will get arround 40 kbps on a class 8 gprs device
around 50 kbps on a class 10 device
N70 is a class 10 edge enabled device ,so u should get around 85-100 kbps speed.
also while connected to internet use this ping on dos prompt.
TYPE "PING -t 202.56.250.6" on run or dos prompt.
quiet informative.. but i still dont know how mobile internet connection gets ued by pc connecting it both.. i once used it for my pc. it was damm slow.. but still nice way to be in connection.. but tht time i was not tht tech geek so went to airtel shop n got it done connected..
