    Wink E71 Music Player Issue

I am sure some of guys have gone through this issue as well. I use the Nokia PC Suite to transfer music, and when I do a refresh in my E71, It gets stuck after sometime. No matter how many time I have tried to refresh It does not work after that the first refresh. I saw couple of solutions which included Formatting the memory card (which I did and only after 61 of 120 songs got refreshed :52: ) and other one was Firmware Upgrade.

I had the same issue in N73 Music Edition :38: also. And neither the format or firmware upgrade worked for me. I am little apprehensive about do a Firmware Upgrade for my new E71.:crying:

Does anybody have any idea on this or can anybody suggest any good third party music player for E71 which does not have this issue

The refresh screen just stays the same. However I am able to press the red button and goto the main screen and then If i go back to the music screen, I can see the same screen. I have to click stop to stop refreshing. Even after doing a refresh none of the songs are loaded into the music player.

I meant software which can run in Nokia and can load the songs without difficulty that the Nokia Player seems to be having

sorry for the late reply ... i think i know the solution ... i am using nokia n73me ... even i faced this problems and some other similar problems...

if you use nokia pc suite to transfer songs or for that reason any other data - what you need to do is:

after the transfer completes follow the following steps with the phone connected to the PC (pc suite):

go to menu -> tools -> sync -> pc suite

it will synchronize your phone with pc suite for the latest changes made.

after this, refresh your music player

Suggestions - i strongly recommend to avoid the usage of PC suite for transfer of music files and themes (some themes are installed on the phone but not shown later - rite? - there is a trick for this also )

use windows media player to transfer songs and arrange music folders and playlists ... nokia phones of this series supports windows media player for this purpose in a specific mode ... you must have noticed the 4 options when you plugin you phone to data-cord ... there is a windows media player option also ...

the best option however is to tranfer music files or any data directly in mass storage mode

i hope this post helps you ...

    Thanks

If it is an issue with Nokia suite, then maybe u can try Oxygen Phone manager. Kindly checkout http://www.oxygensoftware.com/ for details.

np saurav , thanks for the reply

I have configured my media player to sync with my nokia handset, not really having much luck but gonna keep trying. As for transferring music directly through mass storage mode, I tried it once and the media player said the playlist corrupted , after that I haven't tried that mode.. It's really annoying to small small bugs like this from a world class phone. I mean c'mon this issue seems to be there in N73 ME and now E71 and god knows in whatever models . World class some annoying software, same is the case Nokia Maps E71 model, apparently a frimware is supposed to solve issue.. God knows

I see a freeware listed in google query. hence i had suggested so. Maybe they are into releasing older versions as freeware. If u had a SE phone i could have suggested http://www.fjsoft.at/ which is a freeware.

IMO third party music players will cause more troubles than the default one in symbian phones.

The links provided by me are syncing utilities.

Can u please name any such third party music players for symbian OS enabled phones? Are there are such media players for Java OS phones too?

there are many music players for symbian phones. only once i used a third party one. dont really remeber the name. it was more than a year ago. some examples: Download power music player symbian (Phones)

there must be some for java phones too ... will need searching ... do a bit of searching in some mobile sites/forums. gsmarena, mobile9, allaboutsymbian etc etc ... i dont really experiment much with phones softwares these days.... researched a lot once upon a time on these things before buying my n73.
