Exclamation Are there any blackberry users ?

Is it(blackberry) better than other makers in browsing and e-mail access......if yes how better are they and how do they differ...

As nokia also provides all these feature(internet and email)...

Do they give e-mail alerts(sound alert) like sms...

Please get me in detail unique plus points to buy black berry ?

Which service provider is better in tariff(internet) for blackberry users?

Only feature of Blackberry is Live Email Unlike Fetch its(previously it was "and") Push.

SO you receive email directly to your mobile.

Currently Vodafone and BSNL Support Blackberry.

Blackberry Email System is Un traceable.

There are two types of mail services for mobiles - push and pull.

Push mail: As soon as the mail is recieved on the mail server (your account), it (a mail copy) is automatically pushed to the device. So you get it almost immediately.

Pull mail: You need to connect manually to your mailbox via internet and then sync the mail box. A copy of the mail is pulled from the mailbox to your device.

The only services that provide push mail are Blackberry and Windows Mobile 6.0 (and higher). This is where Blackberry and WM-6 devices score.

But push mail does not happen automatically. You must sign up for the service and the service provider should be providing that facility. And finally, your mail service (your office mail - Exchange or Lotus Notes, or Gmail/Hotmail/YMail) must also be agreeing to the same.

All Blackberry/WM-6 devices sound an alert (just like SMS) when a mail is received. My office is willing to provide me the Blackberry service but I must invest on the device cost (VPs get the device also from my employer).

In India, Blackberry services are provided by Airtel, Vodafone, BSNL, and iDEA. I do not know about other mobile providers. Someone please update.

Nokia too has push mail option.....E 71, 75

So i think there is no big deal to go for blackberry.

As Nokia's symbian has lot of software...why not go for it ?

And which provider gives it cheaper..please let me know that

Nothing to do with cellphone OS or company.

As I said earlier, three entities are involved in a push-mail service:

    - the device must support it
    - the mail provider must provide it
    - the mobile service provider must provide it

If all are YES, then you do not need a Blackberry.

Blackberry is presently used mainly by corporate people. I am yet to come across any one who uses the BB on his/her individual capacity.
Purely from the point of speed of data transfer, a CDMA Blackberry (TATA or Reliance) would be better than a GSM Blackberry. BSNL also offers BB service on 3G platform in selected cities.
Reliance is presently the only one offering BB on prepaid.
The standard BB package costs around Rs.1200 p.m. (individual) and Rs.900 p.m.(group). Now most service providers are also offering a shrunk BB service with only E-Mail and IM support at much lower cost. (Rs.299 p.m.)
