Default Yes i use email on phone..

There are diff ways through which i access email through my phone.

1st: phones inbuilt email software( i have nokia 3110c)
2nd:i use opera mini browser of for accessing email, ibf, and also do other things.
3rd:use wap mail services(fast and phonable email site)
4rth:access push mail services like emoze(howeva this is quite data consuming and requires you an unlimited plan with your company)

    use of email on phone:
1st: portable access ( no need of pc, lappy modem etc)
2nd:lesser data rates(gprs plans are not so costly and you dont have to browse whole site for accessing email)
3rd:speed is descent(while speed of dialup on internet is sad, gprs speeds on almost all networks is better.)
4th:you can reply with attachements like photos, mp3 (if you have on phone memory)

softwares and sites of gprs (mobile ) email
    mobile.rediff.com
wap.mail2wap.com( access your pop mails, site accredited by some big co. like ms or google etc)
wap.inbox.lv(latvian site, you may get terrible language experience while signing up)
wap.mail.ru(Russia's biggest email service, i asked my girl friend to sign me up on this mobile service)
wap.c2.hu (wapmail from hungary, fast )
    wap.box.az (azerbaijan email)
    wap.pochta.ru( russian emails )
mail.e1.ru(wap email from Ekaterinburg russia, my girl friend uses this)

    softwares
    emoze
mig33( used only these services, others werent so good)

java mail software for f phones like nokia2626 , etc which have low memory
    ltmail search on getjar.com

i don know why you are saying this. Speed of gprs with the advent of edge has greatly increased. Maybe you are using the phones inbuilt browser or less of opera mini or not a perfect browser version for your phone. Try the latest version. And also Bitstreams Bolt browser which also supports many other things and is speedy more than the opera itself. I think you will really like the pocketability of gprs. Email is just a part of the game, with unlimited connection of gprs plans (atmost 20Rs./day) you get nice speed mobility and everytime access.
