Thread: Nokia 3720

Nokia has finally announced the much talked about 3720. The Nokia 3720 is a part of their Classic series phones. One of the great features of this phone is that it is able to resist water, dust and shock and therefore the inner electronics will be protected.

Some of the other features include -

* a 2.2-inch TFT LCD with a 240 x 320 pixel resolution
* LED Flashlight
* MicroSD card support
* Nokia Maps
* GPRS/EDGE
* Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, USB 2.0 (micro)
* 2 megapixel camera with an LED flash
* Stereo FM radio with RDS
* 2.5mm handsfree socket

The phone is expected to hit the Indian market at a cost of approximately of Rs8520. When the phone is launched it will be competed with the Samsung B1200.

looks great, is it symbian or java based??

All nokia phones are symbian only, the series will change as S40.S60,S80,S90 etc..

S60 is what all call as symbian phone

this is most probably a s40 phone...judging by its size.

I think review reading is must. Most nokia phones are almost good. And there is less or more same things in each phone they bring out. But i think Nokia is giving much time to other players in doing this launch job. They must do everything faster.

OS for mobiles(specially nokia used it).
the os have series from S30, S40, S60(3 editions are there in s60)!, etc.

ok i get it now. still one doubt, why s40 doesn't support symbian softwares/games although it's a symbian phone?

Symbian is the software maker for these kinda java based phones...

the o.s of this phones are enabled to play java files on them, the more sophisticated phones,starting from nokia n70 plays .sis files, which are more advanced in features than the standard java .jar files.. because you can even make them the default software for your phone,,.

for example you can make a opera mobile browser the default browser of your phone cause its a .sis file...

but opera mini cannot be made a standard default broswer cause its .jar..

and there are many more things about this...


s40 phones cannot read .sis files(which are system softwares) s30 versions (low end phones) cant even read advanced .jar files..so its like that....

every good nokia phone will have all this...

i think its a s60 cause Nokia maps i think is .sis soft*(someone pls quote me if i am wrong)

s40 is a simple OS which support single task at a time!
no multitask like there in S60.
.sis / .sisx files are made for S60 & above platforms OS.
