Nice pics. In the early days, we used to have the Pencil Box shaped/sized Nokia Communicator. People used to proudly flaunt it on Airports and flights.

And once a most amusing thing happened - I was on the flight from Paris to Mumbai.

As soon as the flight landed, many beep-beep's sounded - meaning that people had switched on their cell phones and the customer 'Welcome' message was received. A guy started talking on his Communicator. Suddenly his device started ringing and he took the device off his ear in a jerky reflex action. And everybody stared and then started laughing loundly ... while the guy look extremely stupid and sheepish.

Back to topic: The N series handsets (and some of the E Series) have now almost replaced the communicators.

Yes, true. Nowadays, even non- nseries phones are well equipped also.

Funny no one comments much in the mobile section. They just read and go away. No encouragement . Plz do comment so that I can post some interesting stuff also.

kix, from now on i wont post comments like that. Its like kam karo, phal ki chinta math karo. someday ppl will reply and comment without provocation. I will be happy that day.

You can comment on the topic (the phone in this case).

this one have Wide screen in N-series!
but hell 128MB RAM & 434 MHz processor

N97 indeed looks like an advance version of Nokia Communicator. As J4k mentioned that one looks like a geometry box, but the sliding feature of the screen makes it different.

It is a superb phone. But at 37K (or a little more) you can get a decent laptop.

Exactly my point. Whether 1110 or N97, both will work in same way. Phone's main function is make/receive calls. So why pay extra?

And I have used my laptop at airports to call (via Yahoo Messeger and data card).

then i think i tell this things to Nokia, Motorola Companies
Calls & SMS(2nd priority) are major function of phone!
N97 is better than other phones in N-series in India!
But i like N810 & N800 those not in india

You can call anywhere via laptop too. Will post it more after knowing about it. But it is possible.

Yes i respect them!
But there is much difference in quality of reception of signal in 1110 & N97(or anyone)
there are h/w difference & also have latest technology in that phone!

*i compare them above on same factor not on multimedia etc.

But For communication Mobile is Better than Laptop!

1110 will have better reception than N97. I can promise you.
