SORRY ITS NOT 5310 .....ITS 5130

Hi,
I bought a new nokia 5130 xpressmusic phone. When I insert a sim(BSNL) for the first time, it shows "sending a message" and stays there. After a long time I can use it normally. I think we get a message about my gprs settings and like that when we first insert the sim in a new mobile phone. Now each time I restart the phone, it shows "sending a message " and stays there (not hanged... I cant do anything excepti switching off the phone...)

have you tried changing SIM!
if yes & not working then
just do the Restore Factory Settings
Take back up of contacts & messages Using Nokia PC suite
if not working format the phone

the sim prob is absolutely cause the sim card itself. Once happened with me, i had to fill time date everytime i switched on. Later on found out that it was happening with everyone. About the nokia error i will like you to take out memory card. And restore factory settings. Put in card and restore factory settings again. Also do try to format the memory card by the phone's internal file manager and not through the computer. To do this. Take everything out of card to computer using storage mode. Than reformat the card. And put it back. Also don make unwanted folders like my photos of holi or my travel videos. Let them all be kept in their respective system made folders. And pls don mess with the phone like putting 1.9gb songs or data in a 2gb card. It does mess. Yeah.

I contacted the customer care and they said to turn off the "Allow sim service action". But cant figure out where that setting in the nokia 3150. Please help. I tried restoring to factory settings and of no use.

is your phone is in warranty period?
did you tried changing SIM?

Its my new phone. When I contacted a local phone dealer he said the problem is reported by many customers of 5130 with BSNL SIM.

yes its with bsnl, happens with idea too.

its a problem with sim both of bsnl and ideas.

i also faced problem with BSNL at starting but after its cool!
try your SIM in other phone & check whether its working or not
& again insert in your Phone
still not success
Take it to the Service Center

Not with idea my friend use the idea SIM in 5130

Is it a sim problem or a phone problem?

Sim works fine in other phones. But in nokia 5130 it shows the problem. My local phone dealer said this problem is reported by many customers of nokia 5130 with bsnl sim.

If your phone is fairly new, exchange it for another similar features model (not another 5130).
