Hi, every one, i came across this post when looking for something related. below are a simple list of steps required to connect E63 with a wifi router.


Check on the Router -

1. The router can access the internet connection - Meaning you don't need to enter a user id/password to access the internet.

2. The security policy of the router and change the settings as required.

2.1 There is no MAC address filtering - if there is add the MAC address of your router to the list. The MAC address filter is where the router depending of the policy only allows or disallows the MAC address register with it to access resources. MAC address is like the physical address of you device it does not/cannot change.

2.2 Check outer security policies of the WIFI

3. Check the WEP key or SSID key that the WIFI network uses- this is the password you need to provide when connecting to the network. Usually This can be set/obtained from the admin-menu of the

from the E63 -

5. open the browser on the e63
6. select a site to go to example- google.com
7. select the "search for WLAN" in the next menu.
8. once you network is detected, it select it.
9. To connect to the network it will ask for a "WEP" ket for the WLAN
10. type in the key you got in set 3 above.
11. if you have set things correctly you should go the google page.
12. It will ask you to save this as a access point - please do so and next time when you type browse just select the access point and things should work correctly.
