Default Compression rate for wma music on Nokia mid-range phones

conversion of mp3 5-6mb files to wma 48kbps 44khz CBR file is the best thing you can do for your 1GB carded mobile. it converts same quality to mere 1.5/2 mb(foremost)

download this free stuff switch sound converter, its free for most formats.

ai made this pic which gives the answer to whateva(Aaka copy right pending) you have to do..

    Default Update

    ----update----

    friends,
i was trying another bitrate of wma(also playable on my 3110c) though some quality is compromised.

    a 5mb file mp3 was compressed to 650kbs...

pls do try these settings i am posting...use only windows media 9.2 settings for this..

this compression will work for all Nokia mid-range s40 phones and above.

After completing the above steps. Pls don forget to check the Media player sync settings folder in your media folder(phone's own memory) don do anything to it. Neither rename it or delete it.

This is a very good tip. I have tried it. I used a 4.1 MB .mp3 file and converted to .wma file of size 618 KB. The noticeable audio quality loss is very low when I played it in my computer. There were small noise problem in "20 kbps, 32 KHz, Mono CBR". So I used "40 kbps, 32 KHz, Mono CBR and the result was a file size of 1.19 MB. But still better than .mp3. And you probably wont even notice any difference when playing it in mobile phone.

    BTW, Repo for you. :thumbup1:

yes thats what i am trying to say Arch. The quality loss is not noticable if someone hears the files on mobile using company earphones i am so happy that my thread didnt go in wastage thanks again for the rep.+

I've got even a better solution if u have Nero wave editor installed.

Convert ur audio file to 48kbps Nero digital audio MP4 file! It has the same quality of 192kbps MP3!!! and file size of a 4:06 duration audio was 1.42MB. its similar to eAAC+ audio. Much better quality than wma files.
    DON'T beam me up, Scotty!

it will be like file--> save as--> in the file type list box, select nero digital, the options button will be on the left side of this box.

on these portable audio systems, the difference will be practically unnoticeable (whatever is there )!

uh oh... i think i shud go off now that gayness is finding its way into this!!!

omg i just encoded one at 36kbps... 920KB :w00t:. these are just copies for my mobile fone of lossless (wma lossless) files i ripped from my cds. i can never delete those files!

dude its not just sound, the quality is there as well or i would have never encoded anything with that!

even this 36kbps file has the frequencies similar to the 48kbps one (view-->spectogram display in nero wave editor)i.e. upto ~16000Hz. :w00t:

well compression freak when limited storage comes into play . i prefer lossless files (flac or wma lossless) or mp3 vbr at 320kbps on the comp.

great job done....so you too are a cmpression dude as me, lets get married..
