Thread: How to start your own web development firm?

I would like to know about what to do for starting a web development firm... I've a brilliant coder who has just quit IBM... I also have a sales representative in Pune who has just quit his job with an Indian IT firm... Hence, he has numerous contacts in Pune for projects... I'm thinking about quitting my job too... I've the capital and a bit of expertise in Web Designing, SEO, quite decent in content creation and CRM skills... One thing common between all three of us is that we are pissed off by our respective jobs and want to start something on our own...

Things I would like to know is:

1. How to register your firm? Is it necessary to register it in the first year? How much it will cost?
2. I'm planning to shift to Kolkata as it's a cheaper option than Bangalore. Is it a viable option? Or shall we move to Pune?
3. Suggest me some good sites where I may get online projects. One of them I know is odesk.com
4. Basically, I would like to know how to kick-start your career as an entrepreneur...

Thanks for the response.. However, I was not referring to the domain name registration. I was talking about the way to register your organization with the government. For example, Microsoft Corporation.

Hi , Its very simple were you want to register your company.... state, district and city...

1. Go to the ROC office (Registrar of companies)
2. Fill the forms to get new company registration or you can visit mca.gov.in for more info

Dear, as u said, u have a brilliant coder, and having a team, u can take reseller ship of any reputed company so it will be quite better for u and cheep for domain registration and u have to take reseller ship for web hosting to. it will be good for ur starting.
